GREAT!
Those of you who have read previous posts will know that I find the national curriuclum too packed and too academic - particularly at Key Stage 1. I love the idea of the simpler curriculum that some MP's are calling for. I long for the day when the constraints that many teachers currently feel, fall away and their imaginations and creativity and personality are allowed to resurface in the classroom once again.
I loved my years in the classroom and my lessons included a project on the behaviour of African termites which I taught to my class of 9 year olds in a school in Hong Kong. We all got a huge amount of fun and leaning about this. It was totally 'my thing' and I doubt that the system would tolerate it now.
Lets hope it will again.
